Volunteering
Help
Short answers to the things people ask most. If yours is not here, reply to any email we have sent you.
How do I sign up?
Fill in the volunteer form. Tell us your ZIP and it will suggest the counties nearest you — tick as many as you can help in.
Tick how you want to hear from us, and give us that detail. Email and text are separate choices: ticking one does not sign you up for the other.
I lost my link
Ask for a fresh one. We email a new link to the address we have on file. For your safety the page says the same thing whether or not that address is on our list, so it cannot be used to find out who has signed up.
Links are personal — please do not forward one. Anyone with your link can see and change your details.
What is in my portal?
What we have on file for you, the upcoming events in your counties, and a button on each to say you are coming. Other volunteers see only your first name in the list of who is going — never your surname, email or phone.
Tap "I'm going" once. If nothing seems to happen on a slow connection, wait rather than tapping again — but tapping twice will not cancel your RSVP either.
Changing your details
Open your portal and edit them there. Changing your county changes which events you see and which local organiser gets in touch.
County captains
If you captain a county, events you add in that county go live immediately instead of waiting for staff, and you can add photos from events that have already happened. Everyone else's submissions wait for a staffer to approve them.
Stopping messages
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect straight away. For texts, reply STOP.
Email and text are separate — stopping one leaves the other running, so stop both if that is what you want. You can start again any time from your portal.
Checking in at an event
Use the link in the event's message when you arrive. It only works from a few hours before the event until a while after it ends, so an old link will politely refuse rather than check you into the wrong thing.
